50 scientifically proven ways to be persuasive

1. Inconvenience the audience by creating an impression of product scarcity. It’s the famous change from “Call now, the operators are standing by” to “If the line is busy, call again”, that greatly improved the call volume by creating the impression that everybody else is trying to buy the same product.

"some New Yorkers are complaining a giant sized billboard of Lara Stone, advertising the relaunched cK One perfume, secretly spells the word "fuck". In the poster (above), the left-side leg, top and support bar of the table behind Stone form an F, with Stone's underwear acting in the role of a u, while the perfume's titular cK work as the back-end of the swear."

a carpark dance, a fly and a urinating horse

"Michael Stipe and R.E.M's idea for their 15th album is a lot grander than a few singles and a couple of music videos. Having called in guest collaborators such as Peaches, Eddie Vedder and Patti Smith for the recording of 'Collapse Into Now', the trio decided to take things a bit further and commission films for each and every of the 12 tracks on the album. Working with talented filmmakers like Sam Taylor-Wood, Lance Bangs, Tom Gilroy and Jem Cohen, R.E.M. gave them free hands to interpret the songs into a short clip of visual delight. Today, we give you the worldwide and exclusive premiere of the French multifaceted artist Sophie Calle's take track number eight, 'Walk It Back'. In Calle's first ever collaborative project with Stipe and his sonic colleagues Peter Buck and Mike Mills, she shot the clip in her native Paris and included a car park dance, a hungry fly admiring the menu and... a urinating horse." for sale 1 owner 25 - 30 tonne landscape feature

thanks to the earthquake in new zealand... current bid $950... check it out at www.trademe.co.nz/357989041

For sale 1 owner 25 - 30 tonne landscape feature (answers to the name Rocky) ...

He is in pristine condition (just a little bit of concrete dust). Suitable for garden feature, or as in our case a magnificent addition to your living area.

Rocky will enhance your "indoor outdoor" flow considerably, especially if you load him in through the garage roof like we did.

Sorry, but we are unable to deliver Rocky but would be happy for you to pick him up and roll him away (please mind our neighbours when you do) :-)

Highest bid (should there be one) gets personalised photo with Rocky (when cordon lifts) and of course a wonderful addition to your home.

On a serious note: ALL proceeds will go to ChCh Earthquake Relief Fund. :-)

a face book

When Facebook becomes a book from Siavosh Zabeti on Vimeo.

"DDB Paris created the 'Flashback Book' to launch Bouygues Telecom's Facebook platform. Flashback Book allowed social networkers to create limited edition books based on their status updates and photos. Users could include up to ten friends and designate a timeframe of the content to be covered. The limited run of 1,000 books were gone within an hour of the promotion's launch."
